What Makes Us Sustainable?
We restored a one-hundred-year-old building into a space that aligns with the environment and LEED standards. Every detail was designed and planned to be sustainable and minimize our footprint. From state-of-the-art, energy-efficient HVAC systems to the installation of high-performance glass for enhanced natural lighting, a permeable driveway to reduce runoff, and the extensive use of recycled materials, including reclaimed furniture, every detail reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility.
When you choose Loopwell as the venue for your next corporate event or private gathering, you're making a conscious choice to support sustainability and reduce your event's environmental footprint. Our commitment to eco-conscious design and operation sets us apart as an event space in NJ that not only provides a beautiful and functional space but also aligns with your organization's values.
EV Charging Stations
An electric vehicle charging station connects an electric vehicle (EV) to a source of electricity to recharge electric cars, other neighborhood electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrids. EV charging stations function by absorbing solar radiation. They improve access to renewable energy, reduce driving cost, and produce significantly lower emissions compared to traditional cars (meaning less pollution and less greenhouse gas emissions).
Energy Efficient Appliances
The main benefit of energy efficient appliances is that they greatly reduce both direct (fossil fuel combustion/consumption) and indirect (electricity generation) emission of greenhouse gases, the leading causes of global warming and climate change. Furthermore, these appliances help to save money, water, and time.
Honeywell Smart Thermostats
Having a smart thermostat can save 10-15% of energy because heat and AC units are turned off more often than regular thermostats, activity is regulated depending on whether or not the building is in use, and energy bills can be reduced by up to 23%. All of this, in turn, will lower your carbon footprint and reduce greenhouse gas emission.
Energy Efficient HVAC
A high-efficient HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system can reduce energy use by 50% and yield annual energy bill savings of 10-30%.
Pet Friendly
Pet-friendly office spaces have been known to lower work stress, increase job satisfaction, promote employee collaboration, and improve mental health/wellness.
Reclaimed Furniture
Reclaiming furniture significantly reduces waste and mass deforestation by refurbishing products that would have otherwise been sent to landfills or incinerators. It also is more cost-efficient and reduces emissions by preventing the need to log, transport, and process new wood.
High-Performance Glass
High-performance glass greatly improves window insulation which increases the efficiency of building heating and cooling systems. This leads to less energy being used on temperature regulation and therefore, less greenhouse gas emission. These windows can block up to 70% solar heat gain in the summer as well as reflect radiant heat indoors during the winter.
Permeable Driveway
Permeable and porous driveways can help filter out pollutants that increase water pollution, reduce runoff, and enhance ground water recharge by trapping and guiding water into the earth rather than allowing it to flow into storm drains. All of this, in turn, reduces the risk of floods.
Water Station
Water stations greatly reduce the need for water bottles, thus preventing plastic waste accumulation in landfills. The water filters that are included in these stations increase water quality and promote employee health by trapping any impurities or dangerous contaminants.
Community Park
Being located within walking distance of a community park has many benefits including fresh air, a strong sense of community, and a connection to nature. All of these promote the mental health and wellness of an individual. Furthermore, being within walking distance of parks prevents the need for motor vehicle transportation, which in turn lowers the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants.
Walkable to Mass Transit
Being located within walking distance of mass transit promotes the use of public transportation over individual cars, which contributes to lowering air pollution and our overall carbon footprint. Mass transit is also more cost-efficient (no need to pay for gas or personal vehicle maintenance). Furthermore, being within walking distance of mass transit prevents the need for motor vehicle transportation to pickup locations, which again lowers the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants.
Recycled Carpeting for Insulation
Recycled carpeting increases insulation and indoor air quality because it doesn't contain the toxic, petroleum-based chemicals that traditional carpeting has. Furthermore, this environmentally friendly option recycles materials which prevents old carpeting from ending up in landfills.
Smoke-Free
Decreasing the risk of fires and smoke damage to property greatly improves air quality, and protects nonsmokers from the side effects of secondhand smoke.
Earth-Friendly Materials
Here at Loop we are committed to using earth-friendly materials. We have bamboo utensils, biodegradable plates, glassware, silverware, natural cleaning products, biodegradable paper pens, refillable water bottles, biodegradable coffee pods, paper straws, and so much more.
LED Lighting
The main benefit of LED lights is that they can last up to 6 times longer than traditional lights which means lower carbon emission and less frequent replacements (fewer lights means fewer resources needed to manufacture, process, package, and transport materials). LED lights are also low energy cost (cost-efficient), recyclable, and contain no toxic elements (fluorescent lights, on the other hand, contain chemicals such as mercury, which can contaminate the environment when disposed of).
Low or No VOC Products
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are dangerous chemicals found in many household products we use (paints, disinfectants, etc.). Over time, these chemicals get released into the indoor air we breathe. Low or no VOC products reduce chemical air pollution, which greatly increases indoor air quality and safety.
Meditation Room
Having a meditation room to perform mindfulness exercises may lead to increased feelings of connectedness with nature and pro-environmental behavior. Meditating can also promote sustainability by promoting one to make more mindful choices, boosting energy levels, increasing empathy, and easing burnout.
Living Plants for Air Filtration
Indoor plants greatly improve air quality by recycling air and promoting the flow of carbon dioxide and oxygen. Indoor plants can also remove the five most common air pollutants: benzene, xylene, ammonia, trichloroethylene, and formaldehyde.
